Childhood Memories

"When you finally go back to your old hometown, you find it wasn't the old home you missed but your childhood."
TOP 10 Childhood Memories
1. Picnic sa Manila Bay
2. Weekend jogging sa Greenhills (kasama pa sina Tito Kulas, Tita Nelly o kung sino mang anak nila...tapos breakfast sa Dunkin' Donuts!)
3. Eating out sa Jollibee after every mass at laro sa Manuela (Starmall na ngayon).

9. Mga away, gulo, batuhan, barilan sa street namin tuwing may campaign elections o basketball tournament (naku buti nalang nakalipat kami ng bahay)

A Peek at the La Mesa Eco Park

Hanging out at Ecopark
November 16, 2008

This isn't my first time to get inside La Mesa Eco Park. I've been here a couple of times already but didn't had the chance to fully enjoy and appreciate the place since those were taping days. Meaning "ngaragan days", and that most of the times we're shooting scenes during the night when there were no available lights around, just the lights coming from the company's obvan generator.

Alma Mater

Yesterday I went with my mom at DLSU-University Medical Center in DasmariƱas Cavite. But before we meet the doctor, I decided to drop by my alma mater, DLSU-D. I want to personally check what happened to our yearbook. I mean it's been 4 years since I graduated and still...ugh disappointing!

Postcards from the Future

Philippine Real Estate Festival
July 24-26, 2008
VENUE: SMX CONVENTION CENTER Seashell Drive, Mall of Asia, Pasay City

"Another learning opportunity for me...Three days ago I went to MOA with mom and my aunt who arrived that same day from Koronadal to check out SMX's current exhibit. Being a certified real estate broker she encouraged me to go to there. I have always been fascinated with houses (I'm a frustrated architect!) and the investing process that goes with it so I was excited.
Inside the hall, were a mixture of everything - from construction businesses to housing loans to buying and selling of properties. But what catches my attention most was the talk given by world renowned Pinoy archi-genius Jun Palafox and his "Postcards from the Future".

South Cotabato: T'nalak Festival 2008

I left Marbel (aka Koronadal) on the day the T'inalak Festival started. Although main activities hasn't started yet, I was still able to visit some exhibits inside and outside the ProTech building. Good thing I was scheduled for an afternoon flight in GenSan so I have the whole morning to check the Kubo Competition.

T'nalak Festival – Koronadal City
An annual celebration in South Cotabato which demonstrates the importance and significance of t'nalak cloth as the cultural image of South Cotabato. The festival, being a one T'nalak piece, designed by patterns would likewise represent various activities during the celebration characterized by its outlook on being people and product-centered, development oriented, and with tourism, history, culture and arts-driven events.

Baras Bird Sanctuary in Tacurong City

My Herons!

My very first trip to one of the most visited site in my province in Tacurong, the Baras Bird Sanctuary is truly a humbling experience. The road trip on the way itself is an adventure, the simplicity of the kubo houses and vast farmlands is truly a feast in the eyes. Can't wait to see those "large birds" as locals call it.

TOP 10 MYSTICAL HAPPENINGS

From my favorite sanctuary, the Suedad Garden in Lake Sebu, here are some of the most bizaare stories compiled during my interview with Aunt Malen. I decided to post these short stories for readers to somehow understand that mystical stories do happen, that mystical creatures do exist...and they should be given due respect as they play a huge part in the balance of nature.

Balben Family Cove: Exploring the "Hidden Garden" of Lake Sebu

Lake Sebu
The summer capital of Southern Mindanao
"A long time ago, a local princess had a dream of coming to the mountain lands of Sebu. The princess saw a big leaf. When she opened it up a frog leaped out along with a gush of water which flooded the land and became the lake. From the heavens she threw here pythons to the earth which formed the islands at the lake. And in order for the princess to pass by the lake, her brother parted the islands. The name Sebu actually came from the loyal servant of the princess who fell and died on this lake during his service."

My Super Ferry Trip

It was 9th of June when I left home to take on a new journey and hit the sea on a 3 day ship ride via Superferry.
Superferry
Most of my trips from Manila to General Santos were plane trips. But since I decided to tag along with my aunt and cousin, I purchased Superferry tickets instead. It's my first ever Superferry ride! The ship started its engine at 7:45 pm (an hour of delay due to some porter problem...as usual) Good thing the boat ride went smooth for I was quite scared to feel the same kind of nausea I felt during my Galera trip...

the SPIRIT of CALERUEGA

I first heard of Caleruega when my cousin boasted her recent trip to a charming church nestled on top of the hill just right after Tagaytay. Few years later, during the Holy Week, me and my best of friends had the luxury of time to visit Tagaytay and I persuaded everyone to see this church my cousin has been raving about.

This is my first visit. Off we go to CALERUEGA.

the ART of LANDSCAPES

"True art takes note not merely of form but also of what lies behind." - Mahatma Ghandi

What moves me besides traveling? To paint my soul through art.
When I was still in grade school, I used to paint whatever I felt like painting on a plain sheet of oslo paper until I decided that I wanted to give my art pieces some good piece of home so I bought a couple of different sizes of canvas. I was thrilled for the very first time after I saw my first landscape painting on a canvas art. From then on, I started working my craft on good pieces of canvas. Today, a lot of canvas would not only be a good piece to paint one's artworks but also some good photographed pictures. Technology is really quite amazing.
"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature." - Anne Frank

Painting is my first love...i miss doing this...i would love to bring back the magic of my hands...

May 4, 2008 - barkada bonding once again as we celebrated one of my closest friend's birthday, MC. It was raining heavily that day and the mini-reunion paved way to a plan...to take an All Girl Getaway trip to one of the famous premier beaches in Asia, Puerto Galera!
